Let’s see… a whole lot has happened since my last blog. Most importantly, I wrote my dissertation and passed the defense! I actually received a ‘provisional’ pass, which is common. They just want me to revise the chapters according to their comments, which I almost have done, and they will sign the pertinent papers. I couldn’t quite get the comments back in time for a spring graduation, so I will instead officially graduate this August.
Given that I find time, I might play catch-up and cover exciting research topics that have happened in the interim. Highlights include the publication of a genetic project on Central Asian scorpions that I started while working on my master’s back inWest Virginia, and publication of a new species from Death Valley National Park, which received an incredible amount of unexpected attention from the media.
